Original Double page spread article

The double page spread article will about my artist called "Big Joe". Big Joe has come back in the rap game being bigger than ever with his new album called “I AM LONDON” already hitting the top of the charts within 1 week in the UK based rap game. His new album is said to be featuring Nova D and SchoolBoy C. The songs are said to be about his struggles through his drug addiction and his recovery from it. Big Joe said that “There is NO TIME FOR RESTING , FOLLOW THE CODE OR DIE IN THE RAP GAME”. He is showing that he is coming back to be better than ever at his game and he is going to do it by following a code that all great rap stars and artists follow which is to speak from the heart. Big Joe’s words are provocative as he wants to send out a message that the rap game is about competition to be the best with eliminating the competition through the use of using poetic vocabulary in his music. The messages he is trying to send is also to the young youths out there who are causing havoc on the streets of London who are into the gang culture, which is why he named one of the songs in his new album “Fix up” to show that there is always time to change just like how he has made his recovery after 5 years of being out of the rap game. His aims are higher than ever he is going to try and achieve that which cannot be achieved in his career to sell triple platinum globally with his album so that everybody can hear the truth about his life. Big Joe says “There is no point of living life if you are not happy with every action that you carry out” which is the name of his song “Day in the life” in his album. The great depth that Big Joe goes into in his overall album is something to be amazed by inspired by to change life if you are in a messed up situation. His main competition in the rap game is Cendrick Lamar who claims to be the king of the rap game with M vilex being the rap god. As a perfectionist he aims to beat them to the top with the amount of albums that he plans to bring out in future. The time and effort that he goes into is flawless as he is looking to make big progress which is what he means by Follow the code or die in the rap game because he aims to teach to inspire but also to achieve what cannot be achieved by any rapper before him and that is by becoming the next Shakur and Biggie in the Rap game. Hip hop to me is a creative journey and I feel every rapper are on a different stage of their creative journey to be the best but also to inspire those of whom they relate to which is why I became a rapper in the first place. Because I know what it means to come from a harsh background and have a rough upbringing but the music always seemed to release me from the lost limbo of the world. Which is why Track 12 in the album is called ”Limbo of my life” which goes into depth about the loss of his morality to his steps of recovery and getting back into the game. Track 14 of the album is called “Not your average Joe” which is the sequel to his previous song title “Average Joe” which he also released on Track 14 in his previous album 5 years ago called “MONEY JOE”. The layout of the song “Not your average Joe” is trying to explain that he is not his old self anymore but he is a changed man but he isn’t going to be the average rapper that raps about money and drugs because it is “a waste of a breath to rap about the obvious ideals of a rapstar but I ain't about that life no more”. This sense of realization for Big Joe shows how he has changed within the rap game because he is a different person to who he was 5 years ago when he had first started out he was just rapping about the amount of drugs he abused and the amount of money he gained. The best song in his album said by himself is Track 24 “my life” because it features the close rappers he grew up with Nova D and Rhy$ who helped him to his recover and the struggle that he went through to get back in the game of rap which he says “This song title is basically an epithany journey of my life because it shows about my childhood growing up with Nova D and Rhy$ and the everyday struggles I had to go through such as being arrested to being out in prison for 2 years to recovering to be the best but I could have never have done it without my loved ones”.
